I think it’s fair to say at this point that crypto in 2022 isn’t anything like I thought it would be when I got in during the 2013-2014 period. But, I think I know why. I think it’s mainly because of DeFi. DeFi has rsult in hyper financialization of crypto & this has been compounded by creative developers who haven’t been able to resist the siren song of hyperponzification of DeFi. While this sounds bad enough on its own, the insatiable hunger for more and more hyperponzified DeFi platforms has continuously and ravenously gobbled up a huge chunk of the crypto project building resources that could have been aimed at real real world use cases. I don’t know if there’s a solution to any of this. But, I do think it’s important we’re honest with ourselves about what’s actually going on here.
