Want your portable AC to actually cool the room? The exhaust hose gets HOT and dumps heat back inside, making the unit work harder. In this video I show the easiest, cheapest fix: wrap the hose with reflective pipe-wrap (aka Reflectix-style insulation). I demo it on a Black+Decker 14,000 BTU, but this works on almost any portable AC. We measure before/after with a thermal camera—my bare hose hit ~130°F, and with insulation it stayed under ~80°F. I also cover quick upgrades (better window sealing, blackout/thermal curtains) and compare a pre-made hose cover vs a full wrap.
